Back To School Night

Last night I attended Back to School Night at Nathan's school. He has quite a day and is mainstreamed for part of his socialization skills. There is a group of kids in his 5th grade homeroom class that has taken to him and watches out for him. Tonight when I took him to the library, I overheard soft whispers, "Nathan, Hi Nathan" ... some of his classmates were there and made a point of saying hi. He returned their greeting in his "jibber-jabber language and not one kid made fun of him. Seems wherever we go, there's someone calling out his name. Last month at Spokane's Children's Hospital, a man came up behind and said, "Hey, aren't you Nathan?" It was the uncle of one of Ann's friends that works there. I hardly know two people in town and am beginning to feel left out (sigh). Have a blessed weekend.

Sounds like the Lord has surrounded Nathan with a wonderful group of children - what a blessing.
You'll have to get to know more people through your sweet boy, aka -Mr. Personality!

nathan is drawing good friends to his side and i'm guessing it's a result of a praying mom! maybe he can be your agent!

For He shall give His angels charge over thee lest you dash your foot against a stone!

Angels ---in the form of friends --to surround Nathan! God is good!

Boy, Deb, you have that verse right! Angels to watch over Nathan to guard a fall onto driveway from 2nd story roof ledge at age 4, an escape down middle of a semi busy road on his trike, and A FEW window escapes. His angels work OVERTIME!!! He has a proprioceptive problem where he doesn't understand heights nor space (and he seems to have no fear).

I'm so glad that Nathan has a lot of good friends. I don't see how anyone can help but love that child. It seems we have something to learn from special needs children. They seem so cheerful all the time. And I'm also sure that God has special angels for special needs children.
