Here a Berry ... There a Berry

The strawberries and raspberries are ripening ... a few at a time.  That means they are snacked on and I return from the garden with an empty pail in hand ... juice dripping down my face.

Dear Mrs. Mac,
Thanks for serving me joys that yet not have have come here.
The tiny "wild" strawberries in our garden are hardly blushing yet, but they will come, and they will be eaten in thankfulness. How great he is, Our Lord, giving us summer once more.

Nothing beats picking them from the vine and eating them before they reach the kitchen! Momma used to tell us "We're never going to have enough if you girls keep eating them as fast as we pick them"! Truth be told, she and Daddy were eating just as many as were we!

Nearly everything home grown
tastes best right from the
vine. As soon as we see the
little grape tomatoes we start
eating them. So sweet and yummy,
they rarely make it to the back
door.
