Sunday's Bible Message

I love our 'plain wrap' Christian church ... using only the Bible to teach from, today's message came from John 14:23-27 (NIV)

Jesus promises the Holy Spirit: "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear and are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

It's refreshing to receive a word from scripture that doesn't need explaining or referencing or bells and whistles.

There is nothing as renewing and refreshing as the Scripture, is there. Reminds me of Romans 12:2 ~~~~We are having a work day here and I'm whipped after only an hour or so of 'fetch and carry'. We are trying to be a help with re-organizing hubby's tool room. Tough! grin. too many tools and not enough room.
