What I Did On Summer Vacation - Part II

Lake cruise on a kayak.  We've stayed pretty close to home this summer with company, summer camp, a basketball tournament (upcoming) for Nathan, etc.  Mr. Mac and I have been wanting to go kayaking for the longest time .. so we took the plunge last weekend and signed up for lessons .. this involved safety as well and we had to learn rescue techniques should we tip over in the boat.  It's a good thing the water was nice and warm or I'd have chickened out.

One more mini-trip before school starts for Nathan ... Let's see .. it's a National Park just about four hours from home .... any guesses?

You're braver than me! lol! Although one of my favorite things when I was a teenager was to go canoeing down rivers with rapids. Who was I then and where did that person go? lol

Are you going to Yellowstone?

Great pictures, why is your hair so perfect...does it never get messed up? LOL!
We have 4 kayaks, just sold one. We're thinking of selling all of them, it's getting to hard for these old people to get in and out of them! They are fun though, we even have one called a Tadpole which is just about impossible to tip. It's made for kids, but adults can use it to.
Have fun, it's a very relaxing way to spend an afternoon.

Wow! What a beautiful place.
As Cindy said,you are brave.
My son Seth would be right there
with you but I am not much of
an outdoor person.
Glad you're out there though
and having fun!

Yellowstone! Glacier?

I used to live 90 miles from Yellowstone & loved visiting. Last time i was there was our honeymoon 6 years ago. Sigh. Maybe again someday. :)

Oh, you are looking so sporty and fit.
I am just a tiny bit envious.
Especially that flawless hairdo, even in windy weather.
I've just tried canoeing once, it was great fun and actually easier than it looks like.
I think the sea looks too rough for my taste. Must have been some work getting anywhere at all in those waves.
I hope you go for this more often; you are both looking so young and happy.
