Today ...

... Nathan was home, once again, from school.  Seems he has a mystery disease that only strikes at school (uh-hum ... how convenient;).  Rain washed the land and watered the gardens.  The weeds have grown wild and need to be mowed once more.  A nap was in order this afternoon and was taken.  Dinner was an easy fix of leftover homemade lasagna from last night.  A quick salad with homemade ranch dressing rounded out the meal.  Today I vacuumed, mopped floors, washed laundry (always), made homemade mayo and ranch dressing ... and baked a rosemary-lemon pound cake.  Little Jake blessed my day by being such a good boy.  Now the day is over ... time to make sure Nathan is 'unplugged' and sleeping.

I leave you with a picture of my great grandmother, Elizabeth Groden Melcher ... a regular teenage hippy from the 1800's ... my spitting image, eh?:)

I used to get that same illness that Nathan has...school-itis. I think it's contagious and increases toward the end of the school year!
Love the pic of your great gram. Looks like she threw her hat down and said..."this is the real me!". She's really pretty...big beautiful eyes. I also like her shoes...very fashionable!

Yea, my Seth used to get that
mysterious sickness, too.
Pretty clever.
Your great grandmother does
have enormous eyes! She was
really pretty...like you!
Blessings,
Sandy

Hope Nathan is well soon.

I am almost as busy as you, and have no small boy to keep me company. If there is a disease around here it is mommus interruptus and both of my family members have it!

I have a few photos of our Teen that she would wish I not leave for posterity. ;)

Sounds like a lovely day to me Mrs. Mac. Pray Nathan's mystery illness is better...I remember the days of sudden stomach aches and I don't feel goods, when my girls were small.
Your great grandmother looks like a free spirit and yes, you do look her!
Big Hugs!
