A Dog-gone Thief!!

....Last spring I planted two strawberry pots with a total of about 22 plants. I've watched them take root from these lifeless gnarly bare-root plants and leaf out beautifully. By now I should have enough for my morning bowl of cereal ... but I've noticed that the berries I've been watching with anticipation have been disappearing one by one. Yesterday I watched in disbelief as my DAWG snagged a treat for herself. She's on my doo=doo list now and that's not a pretty place to be. Hubby suggested I place the pots just beyond her "invisible" fence line so she gets zapped should she dare take another treat.

Dear Mrs. Mac,
I have spent some time catching up with your blog posts. You always have something interesting on your agenda.
I´m vacationing to and fro and now my daughter has snapped my PC for business use. Seems that her beloved and highly praised as well as priced Mac (book) don´t do it´s tricks on an old fashioned modem. I am struggling with hubby Gunnar´s machine. It feels so strange, like wearing some strange´s clothes.
Not comfy at all.

I read about your soldierson over at Terry´s. What a strong and moving post! You know he´s in my prayers along with Pilot and young Joey.
Having a twenty year old daughter, I think I could never cope with her being a soldier. Luckily that´s not an option.
There´s nothing like fear to bring a mother on bended knees. That I know for sure. Mine are sore..
We know that God has promised to protect and carry our prayerchildren. Let´s cling to that.

An other topic; the snails. We´ve got imported some Iberian snails, called murder snails, they are all eating. I´m waging a constant war against them.
Best advise I found in an American feel-good novel. Sprinkle salt on the ground around the pots. That is if there aren´t any vulnerable plants growing in the immediate neighborhood.Salt is weed killer as well. I you see the snail, just let him have a taste of salt, and he´s a goner immediately.

Now, my eyes and my neck will not play more with this machine, be it ever so sophisticated.
Have a wonderful summer´s outdoor week,
From Felisol
