Changing Of The Guard

We had a beautiful extended autumn this year .. warm and mild.  Then it all changed when we woke up with a few inches of snow yesterday morning ... with another four inches during the day.  Bright autumn day to .. beautiful white and black scene .. just with a few winks of sleep.  Our winters can last a long time in the North Woods ... five to seven months of the year can be expected.  This winter is supposed to be a 'la nina' weather pattern with heavy snowfall.  The first few months are great and a time of rest from gardening and kitchen canning work.  By February I'm ready for a little vacation to a warm sunny spot for about a week.  That's just long enough to get over the winter time blues and make spring and summer easier to wait for.

Have a blessed Sunday!

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Psalm 91:1

Dear Mrs. Mac,
Thanks for Psalm 91.
I claim it as mine.

We have only had one day of frost till now. Else they say that in Norway there's 6 month of winter and 6 month of bad skiing condition.
I think you at least have warmer summers.
Have a nice working week.
P.S. I mean to have read the expression "man folk" in one of the sisters blogs, but I cannot find it in any dictionary. The Norwegian expression is "mannfolk" in one word.
Perhaps you can help me out?

...again...Cathy you should come to Atlanta when you are longing for a break this spring. felisol...the term I believe you mean is "men folk" it refers to a family type group of men for example..my father, brothers, father in law, brothers in law, nephews, husband and son might be referred to as the "men folk" in my family..

Yes, Cheryl .. perhaps Atlanta in the spring .. that would be lovely! And, yes, Felisol, Cheryl has given a good definition of men folk. Probably the same as in Norway :)

Hi M&M ~~ I am not envious of you snow. We had a frost day already and that was cold enough. It delayed the tee times too.

Winter is a tough guard. A tough old master sargeant in my book.

I like your Bible verse, thank you.
