Soporific Rest

The turkey doldrums hit me on Black Friday. Who in their right mind would want to fight the mobs to save money on Christmas gifts. Stand in long lines before sunrise, shivering in the cold wondering if you might get mobbed or even lose your very life to save a few bucks. Not I. My Black Friday rest was partially induced from the feast on Thursday and the work involved to cook the meal. Taking an allergy pill put me in a near sleep induced coma on the couch for a few days. I viewed just about every cheesy Lifetime and Hallmark Christmas movie and made a permanent dent in my sofa. I can spot sewing batting used for snow scenes and computer animated snow flakes from my finely tuned eyes. Decorating for Christmas will be a slow process; a breather is needed to put some space between the two holidays. Perhaps I need some anti-depression meds to snap out of it ... na, another cookie will do the trick!

Like you I do not go near any stores on black friday! It is not fun pushing through such madness, no amount of money could get me out there! Glad to see you're back...enjoy your cookie!!!

Cookies are powerful antidotes I hear..grin. Cotton batting for snow scenes...hmmm, I'll have to be on the look-out for it. Allergy meds can be pretty powerful stuff. I've had some lay me out over the years...and the Docs...say, no way will this affect you and dope you. Ha! Hope you are having a nice day..I'm in a slow tired mode myself...but plugging away. Maybe tomorrow victory will be mine over clutter. I'm gaining on it anyway...lets say. That keeps my spirits up and prayers with it. =)

I'll bring the milk and join you! I remember one year when we were home in St Louis and Dave wanted to go to Best Buy and get a DVD player for $20 on Black Friday. We got there and waited in line, managed to grab one and then stood in a line that was gi-normous! We quickly realized that this would likely take us 2+ hours to check out. We went back to the now empty DVD player display and sat the box back down. Before we turned completely around, it had already been snatched up by some gal with an overloaded shopping cart! How can anyone think this is fun?

My youngest daughter Laura and I DO go out on the day after Christmas and shop for the next year's Christmas gifts for people! THAT isn't nearly so bad at all!

PS
I'm feeling a bit under the weather as well. I ALWAYS have sinus and allergy issues when I go back home to Missouri from Texas. This year was no exception!

ALWAYS go for the cookies over the meds!

And NEVER shop on Black Friday.

My shopping is done. yahoo. Now comes the wrapping. I hate the wrapping. I used to love the wrapping. What's up with that?

WV: mityn --go grab your mityns to keep those hands warm!

Black Friday...blacckkk! Not for me.
Sounds like you just some much needed rest, I could use a little myself right about now. I could also stand a cookie or two...or three. I'll be right over.

I am trying to shift gears and get into the holiday mode, but so far....nothing.

I don't even want to dig into the under-the-stairs closet for the tree decorations...and told hubby dear I would prefer no tree this year...

don't know what is wrong with me...other than low energy levels
