It's Been Hectic

We are just over an arctic blast and now have snowy weather in the teens during the day. The teens seem warm compared to minus zero temps. I have been busy taking care of my little grandson the past two days; Nathan has had a ruptured ear drum and home from school; and just keeping up with clearing the driveway is my exercise routine for the day! Yesterday I made chocolate fudge and peppermint bark for Christmas goodies. This is so much easier than baking oodles of cookies. I'm just about finished with my Christmas shopping ... and my New Year's greeting card can wait until January. My son Patrick's Christmas package went out at noon so now I can sigh a bit of relief. Aaah. How are you holding up just days before Christmas?

Amid the hustle and bustle ... we have to stop and give thanks to the Son of God that came to earth so very long ago. None of this pre Christmas rush can compare to the simple truth of the Christ Child, Jesus. Let's not just remember him in the manger as a babe, but what he came to earth to accomplish, and conquer. May his Peace reign among the nations and in your hearts.

Hugs from the North Woods,

I enjoyed stopping by your blogs. We escape the Christmas rush by going on vacation a couple of weeks before Christmas. We even miss Christmas parties and such.

Right now, we're 1200 miles away from home at the beach!

Merry Christmas.

Dear Mrs. Mac,
It does seem that you are working hard!
Is a ruptured ear drum painful? Poor little guy!
We are not too bad and in any rush Mrs. Mac
For Christmas eve I make a whack of casseroles to bring over to Betty and Johns and on Christmas day we go over to Rachel's and Little John's for dinner.
We have so many nieces and nephews that we count Christmas all through the year as we give them gifts. Mom Golden bought 30 Wendy gift certificates for all of her grandchildren, so she is all set!
Well when I have a few moments I will make your yearly winter post on my blog Mrs. Mac but tomorrow I have my sister, Sandra and my brother David's birthdays to do!
Take care and keep warm. Although the snow is nice and packed, I am too tired to make a snowball to throw at you!...Love Terry

We (the human race who is fallen and living in a fallen world) have the tendency to DO rather than to BE!

I think God prefers that we are more like Mary who enjoyed BEING in His presence rather than Martha who was all about DOING!

Christmas is NO different! We get caught up in our activities and neglect focusing on the Holy BE-ing, Emmanuel, God With Us!

Poor Nathan..I hope he's feeling better.
I have a couple of things left to buy, but it won't be hard, I don't have to "shop till I drop" to find them. I made myself slow down and I feel much better. I've got my prime rib roast ordered from the butcher for Christmas dinner, so I'm pretty well set.
I love the picture on this post...so precious.
Most of all, I thank God for the greatest gift of all...His precious Son - the reason for our celebration!!

I'm rushing around trying to do 'extra's. It seemed to take me forever to get the gifts wrapped. To think....once upon a time I used to actually enjoy spending hours wrappiing gifts. Hmmm, what happened? Age perhaps..lol. Sorry to hear Nathan has a ruptured ear drum...that sounds painful! ~~~~What a wonderful reason we have to celebrate Christmas....Christ, our Lord! I'm so glad. Hope you have a great time with your family....its a blessing to me to be a blogging friend.
