Almost a Teen

It's hard to believe that my Nathan will be a teenager in March. He is very tiny and the thought of him being 13 just blows me away. Today when I picked him up at the bus after school, he told me he wanted to invite a girl to Mama's house. Now mind you, anyone not tuned in to his language would not have picked up what he was saying ... but, this mom knows his heart and babble to understand him quite well. Maybe over the Christmas break, he can have a very supervised visit as they were caught kissing in the pumpkin patch on a class field trip in October. It's gonna be a rough few years ahead, I can already tell ;)

Oh goodness! And so it begins!!

Nathan and Mystery Girl sittin in a tree
K-I-S-S-I-N-G.

WV: polomph. The sound an elephant's feet make when you tie pillows onto them and he walks around wearing his big feathery slippers. (Okay, so it's a stretch.)

Man, I am SO glad those days are nearly behind me. Charles turned 18 in october, I recently did ther math, once Charlie turns 20, we'll have been raising teenagers for 19 years!

UGH! No wonder I am turning gray and Dave is nearly bald!

The little girl ... just picture the little red headed girl from Charlie Brown. She's a little bossy and it's so cute to hear Nathan talk about her. I met her mom and she was kind of excited that our two 'special kids' were acting normal ... I wasn't quite as excited ;)

Fasten your seat belt..this is going to be quite a ride.
On the other side...how sweet that precious emotion of caring for someone else really is, this really touches me.
Meanwhile...he's going to be a teenager, oy!

Dear Mrs. Mac,
I am so happy for Nathan.
Send him my best.
Remember most of the Down's Syndrome people are very sensitive and emotionally highly developed.
They'll spot sadness, even the slightest dissatisfaction without us saying a word.
Enjoy every happy moment. The sadder days come soon enough.

Dear Mrs.Mac
I just want to thank you for praying for me.
I feel so much better! I really believe that all those people praying for me helped!

This is such a sweet story about that "almost teenager" Litte Gift of yours!
I will never forget the day when I had Betty's Little Gift[Ha! Matthew means gift from God too!], in my Sunday school class.
Well one little girl,Valarie pinched Matthew's rosy cheeks and said, "You little punkin, you!" THAT was almost like a kiss, eh?
They were both the ripe old age of three!

We don't have any more snow, but I DID take some pictures of the snow storm that Bernie and I were caught in a couple of weeks ago for you, and I will post it in my blog especially for you Mrs. Mac after I thank everyone for their prayers.
I am in fine shape tonight
.....Love Terry

Yesterday Nathan and his girl 'friend' were on the evening news coverage. The whole class was in a piece about their spec. ed class. So tonight I showed him the segment (I taped it). He was so excited to see himself and his little friend. They were together with a little puppy all smiles and giggles unaware of being filmed. It was way too sweet. :)
