This and That

Recently, we took Nathan to our local amusement park for a special citizen's day. He and I got in for free ... and our guests paid $12 each. Right away he made it known that he wanted to ride the wooden roller coaster ... but I opted for him to wait and go with daddy another time ;) ... Then he talked me in to riding the tilt-a-wheel which brought back my vertigo ... and nearly brought up my lunch :( I really just wanted to park myself on a bench and be a people watcher ... NOT! We walked a fast pace for about 2-1/2 hours ... by then I had blisters and sore shins from trying to keep up! That's when we ran in to Ronald McDonald ... and the purple blob (?) in photo. Anyone know the blob's name? Nathan made sure to tell Ronald he LOVES french fries.

Today I had a play date with my little grandson, Jacob ... My daughter is working a couple of partial days per week and brings him over for a few hours until daddy gets off work. His newly emerging social skills: blowing bubbles, cooing, and the occasional smile have me speaking motherese all over again!

Photos: Nathan, Ronald, Purple Blob 5/07; Jacob ... 8 weeks weighing in at 12 lbs!

Now that's what I'm talking about - great pictures!!
I have no idea who that blob is, but I'm sure someone will let you know. Nathan doesn't seem to be bothered one little bit by his presence!
Jacob is so darling - you may have do his hair in corn rows if it gets any longer! He looks yummy!
Terry's still waiting for those pictures of Sunday dinner, right Terry?

What an absolutely gorgeous little baby he is!!! Can you tell I am hungry for grandchildren? But someone will have to get married first, and there are no prospects yet...

Dear Mrs. Mac, do you remember the question you asked me via email a looooong time ago? Like almost... 3 weeks ago? Well, I've finally got a reply to you. Since my email server doesn't always deliver to yahoo addresses, please let me know if you don't receive it... and I'll send it to you via my yahoo addy instead.

How exciting for Nathan to get to meet Ronald McDonald! That will be a happy memory. Your grandson is sooo cute..how wonderful that your daughter lives close by! I'm jealous...smile. Mine is in the sunny south. No special plans for Memorial Day yet. We have a local parade tomorrow but hubby has to work. I'm thinking horseshoes and potato salad for Monday. No relatives left to honor..my Dad served in WWII...but he passed on years ago at the age of 51! Hope you have a great time with your family Monday. As for the amusement park...you are a good sport! We stopped riding rides way back when...necks and stomachs let us know they won't tolerate those action rides. As for blisters, don't you just hate'm! Only thing worse is poison...no I won't say the words. I already had some would you believe? On my ankle. I took my spinning wheel over to the Demonstration Days for free advice and went through the grass...halfway through I noticed the little leaves =(. Thankfully we had some Olux foam...which works absolute wondors in clearing up poison i. quickly.

The identity of the purple blob is Grimace. You can read his entire bio on wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grimace

Don't even ask how I know this. Let's just say, I'm a child of the 70's.

Oh Mrs. Mac...I've told you before, but I'll tell you again (and I'm sure you don't mind hearing it) your grandson is an absolute cutie!!! He is looking so big already...it looks like there isn't much that gets past him! I'm sure he is taking everything in that happens around him!

I don't know...you keep posting pictures like that and I suppose I'll have to have another little bundle like that myself...Madeline is almost three so I guess maybe it's about time... ;0)

And as for Nathan...he is a cutie patootie too...I'm sure he had a blast at the park...hope you're feeling okay after your day there though!!!

It's Grimace alright! he certainly doesn't look very McDonald-like does he? Cute grandbaby pics! It's wondeful having grankids!

When I was pregnant with my youngest, Charlie who will be 17 this year, I came down with a viral infection in my middle ear. As a result, I have almost 100% hearing loss in my left ear and can no longer ride roller coasters! I hurl everytime when I used to be able to ride them over & over & over.
