Stewing

It takes a lot for me to get a bad attitude. Most days I run around with a Pollyanna spirit thrilled at life and finding the good in everything. And there is really nothing to complain about ... EXCEPT that DH IS AWAY ON VACATION (WITHOUT YOURS TRULY)! And to make matters worse, he actually calls me each morning full of all the fun facts of his trip! ... all the while I'm STUCK here making decision after decision about landscaping, blacktop, paint choices, concrete design, running the house, taking care of HIS kids ... including one that has SPECIAL NEEDS ... oh, and walking the dog! To say that I'm not thrilled at HIS year in advance, once postponed, all guy trip to historic East Coast battlefields vacation is an UNDERSTATEMENT. After all, I've been here for over a year (day-in-day-out) designing the home, planning OUR daughter's wedding last year, greeting OUR first grandson and wondering why I've gained weight! Do you think I have a bone to pick with him? Maybe I should just shut my mouth!

A quarrelsome wife is like a constant dripping on a rainy day;

restraining her is like restraining the wind
or grasping oil with the hand.

Proverbs 27:15-16

Cartoon: Ten years from now, that's Yours Truly being fed by Nathan (hee, hee).

Doesn't that feel better? Now exhale. You have been "super woman" and I have a feeling you always take on everyone elses needs before your own. Sometimes it just feels like you need to vent. It doesn't change how much you love DH one tiny bit, but you have had an indredibly work, tension, stress, fun, demanding year. Apparently your love for him and your entire family is beyond huge - they are all so blessed.
Let's meet on some cruise ship and take a little 3 days vacation! Notice I include myself in your need for R & R?!

I LOVE the cartoon!

Next year for my Mom's birthday we're taking an East Coast trip. She's from Germany and fascinated with Colonial History! I told her that she has to let me go to a couple of battlefields while we're up there, since I love Civil War history. Our youngest daughter Laura, is a Civil war Re-enactor and she is so jealous that she will be in school and unable to go!
One of the perks of getting older!

I laughed out loud at your cartoon, so Pop came over to see what I was laughing at: His comment was "o, honey you laugh at the funniest things, that's gross" :-) but he liked the quote about "Catching oil with the hand"
Your DH is probably so proud of you, You certainly have worked hard. Gramma_s

i'm feeling ya sista. sometimes enough is enough; ya know? do you ever feel like you cut off your nose to spite your face by proving yourself so very capable? anyway, am praying for peace and that if it is pleasing to the holy spirit, perhaps the dh could have a little constipation or something just to even the score. loving on you from michigan.

Dear Mrs. Mac...Now that I am out of the grumpy mood I was in, I thought I had better get in here and wish you a Happy Mother's Day!!

What was the little gift trying to feed you anyway?...french toast, bacon and melon?
Stop complaining and open up Gramma.

Oh, Miss Terry, you are just too funny! I'm still here ... but this dial up is making me a bit crazy. I was supposed to get my high-speed connection this week ... but a part was bad on the dish. Now I have to patiently wait until next Monday. I have lots of good stuff swimming around in my head to post about ... just too frustrating to using my current mode of internet travel ;).

I was wondering what happened to you. Good thing we have Terry to keep us laughing!
Keep all those thoughts in your brain and we'll look forward to some really good posts in the future. Meanwhile, my brain could use a refill!

I could tell by your recent post that greeting your FIRST grandson was really an addition to your burdens. :-) (just kidding. It would be kinda hard to not have hubby with you, to share your joy at that time) Just gramma_s

Hey Little Gift ...offer your mama some dessert and then she will open up and be done with eating, and she'll start to do a bit of blogging, eh?
Tell her she is missing out on a lot of good stuff!!
Tell her when she DOES start to post, we won't be satisfied with just a comment on her own blog, but we want pictures and some of her wise posts!!...Give the
"Dawg" a hug for me and hug the babe too...No hugs for Mama though!!..Love Terry

You are an amazing woman...I think maybe thats why your hubby has such peace about leaving things in your hands. Still, to vacation without you IS a burr under the saddle. Maybe he'll plan something romantic for the two of you soon...I wouldn't be surprised, not at all.
