Whatever Happened To Mrs. Mac?

Mr. and Mrs. Mac at Memorial Day Service
It's been a while since I dug in and wrote a blog post with more than a sentence and a few pictures.  Life has a way of passing by without so much as a hiccup .. then .. the brakes get applied.

Our youngest daughter, Ann, recently moved out on her own.  She has been working as a dental assistant for almost a year now after graduating from school last summer.  This makes the homestead a bit quieter and has freed up my schedule.  You wouldn't think that having an adult child living at home would make the parent's calendar fill up .. but somehow now that she's not living here .. I have more (me) time.  Her room is being transformed into a little retreat for sewing projects and quiet day dreams.

Nathan finished up the 8th grade yesterday and is home for the summer.  He has three days a week planned for summer camp activities.  Did I mention that he has progressed to the point that he can pretty much take care of himself? Thanks to the work of a very special interventionist that has helped to transform a very needy (special needs) child .. into one that is very capable of managing his own self without very much assistance.  PTL!  I'll post an update soon about his health after a recent scare we had .. but for now, let's just say he's growing like a weed and seems to be on the mend.  The docs don't suspect leukemia .. will know more after his next blood test in July.  Thank you all that have been praying for him ..

I hope to get my writing grove back and post more often.

Dear Mrs. Mac,
Thanks for keeping me updated.
It's good for the young birds to leave the nest, but they never for a second leave your heart.
I think you'll find you'll spend a lot of time in prayer in your me room.
And that is both right and necessary too.
I am thrilled about Nathan. He has developed many years thriugh this one year and grown like a giant sunflower.
I thank the Lord for this, and he shall remain in my prayers.

Dear Mrs. Mac, I bless you every day, especially this time of the year. When using your knitted cloth, your oatmeal soap and soothing balms; they really have a "double action effect".
Never have my hands been better cared for and less aching, (even though I tend to exaggerate, it is hard to stop before the pains come), but I literally feel you consideration and care every time I use your wonderful remedies.
Therefor the best prayers for you and your family comes from my bathroom.
Have a blessed week end, all of you.

ditto the first part of felisol's comment.

PTL! Indeed! I am so thankful that Nathan is no longer under threat of that diagnosis.

I am also thankful to read your life is progressing with the flight of another bird from the nest and Nathan's continued growth. Thank you, too, for your comment on my blog last night.

Your friend, Barbara

How nice to read this post - I can feel the warmth of God's love radiate though each word.
What a great picture of the two of you! Was Mr. Mac ever in the service? I love the patrotism that is so evident in both of you.
Give Nathan a hug from me, I'm so thankful and proud of the progress he is making. Is he stil smitten by that little red headed gal?

This is such an uplifting post, Mrs. Mac... and I am so glad I dropped by here today. Each time I visited, there would not be anything new, but today, there was plenty! So glad for the events in your family life! COngratulations to youngest daughter who is now on her own... and dear Nathan... that's my good news for today. I will be praying for the medical intervention that he needs, if ever. And that recovery will be quick.

Rejoicing with you...

Love
Lidj

First, love the pic of you and the Mr! Second, so very thankful that Nathan is doing so well and progressing so much. My sister would readily agree with you that having grown children continuing to live at home can take a lot of time and energy! She is down to her last one as of this weekend. It is now she and my BIL and their youngest who is now 20. Before long, they'll be back to just the two of them for the first time in 31 years! She's highly motivated to make it happen sooner rather than later! Your post sounds so relaxed and peaceful which makes me joyful for you! Have a great weekend!

Many hugs.........

Diane

What a nice picture of you & your hubby! I've not been blogging as much. With R home, its a different world, one I like very much, but not very much 'me' time...for killing hours off one by one...=). I will pray for Nathan. I'm about to get ready to go to the dentist for some serious bridgework...gulp. I'm thankful to be in his good hands though.

Hi M&M ~~ I will say 'Praise the Lord" also! And will put Nathan's blood condition (he is one it, has been for a long time) on my prayer list.

I don't think you need to practice writing to get back in the groove. You just need to do it, you write wonderfully well.

Mr. Mac fits into his uniform rather nicely. Did he have to buy a new one or has he always been this size? For sure I would need to buy a new one. First, my ex trashed it. Second, it wouldn't fit anyway.

Best wishes too, for Ann. It is exciting to get out on a person's own. Does she have a car? An apartment I presume? A lot of girls just moving out get with a room mate for costs sake.

It is amazing how much "space" one extra person takes. Having my last child out of the house has made a huge difference in the time I have for other things. I miss them but I love this new season! You will too I'm sure!

Hi Mrs.Mac....I'm wondering if you can help me? I downloaded the shabby blogs background and I don't know how to get rid of my 'blogger' background. I'd be grateful if you could shed some light on this. would you take a look? thank you!! I too am adjusting to an adult child leaving the nest....again. Not easy for sure. Hope this is the last time for me...really! wishing you a happy day...
