Ever Thankful

Nathan .. age 15
Thankful for one left in the nest.  After Ann moved out in May, I have come to discover it would be pretty lonely around here without any youngins at home.  Nathan (the possessor of an extra chromosome) is perpetually youthful and adds great joy to life.  To be so young at heart .. always .. is a gift beyond measure.

Every part of life is a season.  I think the empty nest phase would be quite .. well empty without our special needs son.  So thankful God knew we needed him before he was born.  Even with all of his challenges, life adds a richness that would be lacking without him.

In God's infinite wisdom .. He has blessed us and given us reason to have joy as we enter the golden stage of life.

  2. Dear Mrs. Mac,
You are putting it all so wisely and correct.
God knows our needs long before we realize them ourselves.
Nathan's important place on earth cannot be filled by anybody else.
The Lord sent him and he became your lifelong blessing.
I wish this blog could be broadcast all over the world; it's so important.
Blessed be your days, now and forever.

my sister, gail has three boys that have myotonic dystrophy and two of them are autistic...she says that she is the luckiest mother in the golden family because she will get to keep those boys forever.
they are such good boys mrs. mac..curtis, phillip and daniel

mrs. mac..you know that mom golden had nine children and one day HER nest was empty...well one day gail went to see her and found mom golden crying.."why are you crying mom?"..."well", mom golden said, "i always thought that it would be nice to have a quiet house, but i never knew that it would be so lonely!"

god bless you dear mrs.mac..as long as you have that little treasure, you will remain idaho's mother of the year!....love terry

Dearest Daughter - you continue to amaze me with your thoughtful vision as to why God put you on this earth. Of course, it was to be a mother to Nathan. Your dad and I are so proud of you and the beautiful mother you are to all of your children. God blessed me with you so many years ago and I treasure every day I've had with you. Love you honey

  10. You are a wise woman! I too have had days when I thought the empty nest would be grand...but having experienced a bit of it I am very thankful for the blessing of family who have needed my home as a respite and for my grand who comes and goes with abandon and keeps us smiling and young. God is so good to know what we have need of even before we ask!
